Me and my girl and boy, raising awareness and acceptance of autism

“Tomorrow is another day” that’s my mantra for this evening. It’s not that often I start my blog feeling like the day hadn’t had some good, positive moments to cling on to…but tonight is one of those times.

There’s been about an hour of good times today – that’s not an hour in one go, it’s spread out throughout the day. And during one of those nice & peaceful five minutes, when things were going ok, I did think “they go back to school two weeks tomorrow, I will miss them”. Things change very quickly as anyone who lives with a SN child will know and that thought was replaced with “roll on back-to-school time”.

If it hasn’t been D being upset by something (usually her brother), it’s been T (vice versa).

They both have their own particular interests – T’s is sport and football, D’s are Bunny (good old Bunny), her playmobil people whom she likes to carry around and her “My Animal Farm” animals. Which is fine, but get them together whether in the pool or bouncing on the trampoline and one, if not both, end up frustrated and upset and I feel I need to split myself into two.

By the time Hubbie came home, I was very ready to start the evening routine, more or less an hour earlier than usual. D yawning almost as soon as her Melatonin was administered.

So….Scarlett O’Hara couldn’t put it better:

“The last line of the American Civil War novel Gone With The Wind:

Scarlett O’Hara: “Tara. Home. I’ll go home, and I’ll think of some way to get him back. After all, tomorrow is another day”

(Random additional facts: This joins “Fiddle-dee-dee!” and “Great balls of fire!” as lines spoken by Scarlett O’Hara that have become commonplace in the language.)

I hope everyone’s had a good day, comments/RTs as ever welcome, thanks for reading Jx 😘

My end pictures tonight made me LOL, hope you like them:

  1. Absolutely love the second one!!!! I too am hoping Tuesday nothing like Monday. :/ How I loathe The Bangles and thier “Just another manic monday” Grrrr.

Had a prize (I’m sorry no other word for it) ARSE of a monday. Started good…My first Pay Per View…WWE Summer Slam (feeding my wrestling addiction), then played some online scrabble (next best addiction) then friend (only 1 of 2) phoned and then felt VERY second best and guilty (yes v ridiculous) for being female as his partner doesn’t appear to “understand” our 29 year long friendship…..clouds cleasred felt better for a while and then….brother’s ex phoned (smashing lass) to tell me what a toss pot said brother was 😦 Unfortunately had to agre but took 2 hours to do so. It’s now v dark outside (and I am afraid of the dark) so can’t go out. Will go to bed feeling hyper and stressed BUT the redeeming feature of my craptastic day is folk like you who give me space to vent!

    ANNNNNDDDDD RELAAAX!

Thank you Jeanette/Autism Mumma for blogging and inviting comment! You can’t imagine how better I feel xxx

Night night and here’s to a SMASHING Tuesday!

  2. Wow you guys do have a shorter break tine then we do here. Your right when you will miss them once they go back. Well maybe you will after the first few weeks lol. Then it’s back to the fall grind. I don’t look forward to fall. It’s when the real hussel begins to me anyway. School , Homework, After school activities, and then appointments. Boo hiss hate fall. Love the season cause of the colours but hate the other stuff

    • Hi, our summer break is six weeks. Really looking forward to that first peaceful coffee and getting some writing done. I love the autumn colours but it does mean that Christmas is on the way!!

  3. I’ve blogged about the trampoline ‘sharing’ issues myself before now – it is the best thing we ever bought and sometimes the worst! You’re doing really well at so many posts – I’ve struggled to find time over the hols. Roll on back to school and I’ll come and join you with a cuppa!!

    • Thank you, I feel the same about our trampoline…wonderful for the exercise and stress reduction element, awful for sharing. And then if they do agree to be on there together, it doesn’t last long! Kind of in the “I’ll miss them” mindset at the moment but that won’t last! Counting down to that coffee!! 😉
